Alas, Henry Davell, the last Abbot of Whitby - gaze into his mirror and... nothing but the dark remains of a broken and tortured soul. In 1539, Davell was forced to surrender the Abbey to Henry VIII in the Dissolution. He left in bewilderment, a broken man with a shattered conscience, to die insane within the year.
